Save a tree, send a video

Disclaimer: This particular blog post specifically speaks to those planning a wedding or elopement.

With all of the technological capabilities available today, paper save-the-dates, invitations, etc are becoming only one of many options for getting information distributed about an upcoming ceremony.  Although I am not a HUGE fan of form template invitations (Evite, SomeEcards), there are manners in which to send electronic wedding notifications in a creative and impressive way.

For example, these stop motion videos are adorable and definitely leave an impression:

Also, a fresh idea for the Save-the-Date is to film the proposal (discreetly of course) and send that out with the wedding date so that all of your friends and family get to experience that special moment with you…the first of many throughout the process.  That could even be the text to accompany the video: “Now that you have been a part of the beginning of this process, please be there for the big moment.  Save the date for <insert date>.”

Bottom line, no need to feel like you have to send traditional save-the-dates or invitations ..this is about you.  Feel free to get innovative and think outside of the box (of paper or card stock)!
